Business Sponsorship An important component of the Business Visa (Permanent Residence) is the State Sponsored Visa. Application for this type of visa involves the sponsorship of an individual by one of the Australian states. The Business Skills Visa categories (i) Business Talent (Migrant) Visa is for high calibre business people who are owners or part owners of an overseas business, with significant business assets. (ii) Business Skills (Provisional) Visa is valid for four years. Business Owner (Provisional) is for people with a successful business career, including business owners and senior management with significant business assets. They must also be genuinely committed to take part as a principal in the management of a new or existing business. Applicants in this category may be sponsored by State or Territory Government. Senior Executive (Provisional) is for senior executive employees of large overseas businesses. Applicants have usually been responsible for strategic policy development. They need to possess significant net assets and be genuinely committed to take part as a principal in the management of a new or existing business. Applicants in this category may be sponsored by State or Territory Government. Investor (Provisional) is for investors and successful business people and investors with significant net assets. They must be willing to invest funds in a designated investment in Australia for four years. They also need to be genuinely committed to maintain business and investment activity in Australia . Applicants in this category may be sponsored by State or Territory Government. (iii) Business Skills (Residence) Visa permits permanent stay in Australia with a resident return facility which is valid for five years from the date of grant. Business Owner (Residence) is for people who hold a Business Skills (Provisional) Visa. They must have owned a business in Australia for at least 2 years, affording significant personal and business assets involving a minimum number of employees. Applicants must have been in Australia for at least one year in the two years immediately prior to applying. Applicants in this category may be sponsored by a State or Territory Government. Investor (Residence) is for people who have held a Investor (Provisional) Visa and a designated investment for a minimum of 4 years and who have lived in Australia for at least 2 years in the four years immediately prior to the application. Applicants in this category may be sponsored by a State or Territory Government. Once a person's business has become established in Australia , Residence Visas are easy to obtain. The criteria for the Residence Visas are lower than they are for the Provisional visas. This is mainly due to the fact the Australian Government wishes to encourage enterprising and skilled business managers to remain in Australia . |
